Isabel

My name is Isabel Nilsson. I’m 37 years old and live in a house just south of Stockholm, Sweden, together with my wonderful 1.5-year-old daughter and my two loyal German Shepherds.

I grew up in Umeå, surrounded by nature, animals, and a love for the outdoors—all of which have shaped who I am. My passion for dog training and animal companionship has been a lifelong journey, and today, it’s more than a hobby—it’s a calling.

Even with the joys and challenges of motherhood, my connection with my dogs has remained strong. In fact, it’s only grown. Our family feels like a true pack. Life is a constant shift—one moment I’m a mom, the next I’m a handler—but I wouldn't have it any other way.

Working with dogs isn’t just a part of my life—it defines it. I’m a certified dog instructor, an active patrol dog handler in the Swedish Home Guard, and I also compete in the demanding sport of IGP. My dogs are trained patrol dogs, ready to assist in real-life operations such as searching for missing persons. Being able to combine my passion with meaningful service to society is a powerful, humbling experience.

When I’m out training, it’s as if the world pauses. It's just me and my dog—connected, focused, and moving in sync. That unique bond, the silent communication, and the trust we build together are what first drew me into this world. To work side by side with a dog, to grow together, and to achieve goals as a team—there’s nothing quite like it.

For me, this is more than dog training. It’s purpose. It’s passion. It’s a way to give back.
